Roy Neal Pippen

Roy Neal Pippen of Christoval, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2009. The family visitation will be 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M., Monday at Johnson's Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Christoval Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Hurt officiating. Interment will follow at Christoval Cemetery. Roy was born February 5, 1953 in Ranger, Texas to John Neal Pippen and Marie Jane Holbert. He was first and foremost a strong Christian man that loved, and was devoted to his family and friends. He was a proud member of Christoval Baptist Church and knew Pastor Doug Hurt and wife Lori as dear friends. Roy always looked forward to helping construct the sets for VBS and Christmas programs. Roy was also a cowboy with talents ranging from writing poetry, to making wooden toys for his beloved grandchildren, great nieces and great nephews. Roy attended Rankin High School and proudly served his country in the US Navy. Roy had a passion for politics and was a Republican. He was the Dallas Cowboy's greatest fan. There were not many people that Roy did not extend a helping hand and a warm meal to when needed. Roy loved his God, his Country and his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Roy was preceded in death by his Grandparents, W.L. "Roy" Pippen and Bessie Lee Pippen, by his father John Neal Pippen, one daughter, Rebecca LeNeal and one son, Travis Caleb Pippen. He is survived by his loving family, son, Chance Neal Pippen, of Highland, TX; his Daughter, Celeste LaNay Cooper and her husband Joe, of Beach city, TX; His Grandchildren, Gabriel, Nicholais, KateLynn, AshLynn, JosLynn, Sierra, Memoree; his sisters, Carolyn Campbell and her husband Dr. Jack Campbell, of Chirstoval, and Melinda Hunley and her husband Tommy Hunley, of Eldorado,TX; his brother, Jeff Pippen, of Snyder, TX; his nieces, Tara Reynolds and her husband Adam, Leslie Pickett and her husband Charlie and Ashlie Balderas and her husband Jacob; his nephews, Chris Phillips and his wife Madolyn, Austin Hunter, Kyle Hunter and Will Whitten; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins that he adored. Memorials may be made to the West Texas Boys Ranch. The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to Dr. Daniel Dube and all of the staff at Shannon ICU for all of the wonderful care given to Roy. They would also like to extend their sincerest thanks and appreciation to all of the family and friends who said prayers and expressed their love and support for Roy.
