Not sure what to say?

Ice skating on our neighbor's large pond after dark. We had built a fire on the ice so we could see. Roy was a good at skating, seemed a little 'daring' with his jumps over things. It was good fun! Great friends of the family!

My grandfather was everything that i hope to be when i am older, he gave me something to look up to. He enjoyed life outdoors, which are the best memories that we had with eachother. Wheather it be fishing up here on the coast of Maine, or letting me drive his motor boat when we visited many many years ago. I respected my grandfather greatly, and i am saddened that he is not here anymore to make more great memories, and also saddened by the thought that he and i didnt get to spend more time...

Grampy, you'll never know how much I shall miss you. It is because of you, that I am in college for photography. It was because of you that I won my first photography contest during Garland Days. It is because of you, that I really enjoy the coast and the outdoors. I was reading back through a journal from 1999 when Mum and thomas and I came down to visit and we went out on your boat and I noticed the boat was filling up with water because a hose broke. That made me smile. I will always...

My Grandfather the best person that I have ever known. I have so many memories of fishing in millinocket to fishing down on the coast catching mackerel and harbor Pollock. All of the techniques to catch salmon and Brookies up on the Golden road. I remember one day I was up there in millinocket on a fishing trip with him we were fishing the west branch of the penobscot fishing just under a nice set of falls in a big deep pool and Grampy pulled out one of the biggest togue I have seen in...

I enjoyed meeting and working with Roy and will miss that he is not with us. I enjoyed his photography and wit and his happiness to share.
In that vein, here is a verse I have that he posted to his website.

"As we step back in time we are reminded of our life of yesteryear.
The beauty of the ages has reached forward and blessed this day.
Take a stroll down memory lane and recount your past joys.
Be blessed and free to enjoy all the happiness to come your way."

Roy was one of my favorite patients. I enjoyed my many conversations with him and we enjoyed discussing the books we had read. My mother-in-law had grown up in Maine. I had only been there once and enjoyed talking with Roy about my one trip there. He was truly a fine gentleman-I can still see him walking the halls of the hospital with his cap with the long pony tail! We were all saddened to learn of his passing. He will not be forgotten by the Oncology Nurses at Sentara!
