Roy Yardley Roy Yardley, 57, of Milan, Missouri, passed away, Monday, October 7, 2013, at University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Roy was born on September 29, 1956, in Gary, Indiana, to Francis Leon and Ruth Louise (Williams) Yardley. Survivors include: one brother, Ed and wife Donna Yardley of Milan, Missouri; a sister, Janet and husband Terry Burkhart of Valparaiso, Indiana; an uncle, Billie Joe Williams of San Diego, California; 3 nieces and nephews, Valerie Yardley, Tammy Poland, and Spike Henningfield; 7 great nieces and nephews, Amanda Poland, Heather Poland, Sarah Heming, Ashley Henningfield, Faith Poland, Colin Poland, Chloe Yardley Harris; and several cousins. He was preceded by; his parents, and a nephew, Little Ed Yardley. Roy lived in Gary, Indiana until 1968, where he moved to Milan, then lived in Colorado and Texas for a time before returning to Milan in 1996. Roy worked the past 17 years at Farmland in Maintenance, and in the past owned APCO gas station for several years. He liked to hunt and fish, and enjoyed working on his 1969 Dodge Charger. He loved his dogs, Tex, Lightning, Thunder, Sparkle, and Sylvester, and loved his nieces and nephews, and valued his friends. Funeral services for Roy were held 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Schoene-Ruschmeier Funeral Home in Milan. Pastor Darin Frey officiated. Burial followed at Elmwood Cemetery, North of Milan. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
