I first saw Sammy Secofsky when he was in my fathers boy scout troop. I went along with the family to the scout outings and we became friends. As teenagers trying to seek the truth, my sister and I convinced Sammy to go to Torah Leadership Seminar where he could meet lots of rabbis and ask all his questions. He found his place amongst them and became a torsh true person.

Sam had an awesome sense of humor and was a very caring person. I met him when we lived around the corner from them in NYC during grad school...my last memory (but not the last time I saw him) of him was at lunch in NYC at an Italian rest with my wife and 1 year old son (at the time.) That was a very special lunch...

I knew Sammy when he was a young boy from Hebrew School in the Floral Park Jewish Center, in Floral Park N.Y. He also joined my father's boy scout troop, held in the same synagogue. We grew up together and were part of a group of teenagers attending the Yeshiva University's Torah Leadership Seminars in the sixties. He was quite a talented artist and designer even at a young age.
