Sandra Kay Balthrop Lehman, 77, of Iowa Park, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2025 followed by services honoring Sandra’s life at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Pastor Shane Kirkpatrick, officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.
Sandra was born on April 15, 1948 in Muenster, Texas to the late Welton James Monroe Balthrop and Gladys Belle Durham Balthrop. She married the love of her life, Garland Rex Lehman on June 3, 1966 in Rosston, Texas. Sandra worked many years for the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) where she was a Field Interviewer.
Sandra was a longtime faithful member of Pacific Ave Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, and enjoyed volunteering at church camps and Vacation Bible School. Throughout the years, she was active in PTA serving in many positions locally including President at WR Bradford Elementary and Kidwell Elementary, as well as District 13 President and many other positions on the District Board of Directors. Sandra held a life membership with the Texas PTA and National PTA. She also served on the Board of Directors for Highland Cemetery Assoc. and was active in the Ladies Auxiliary.
Sandra was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved serving the Lord and taking care of her family. She enjoyed being active in all of her children and grandchildren’s activities while growing up, making different themed birthday cakes for her grandchildren’s birthday and Christmas ornaments each year for Christmas.
Along with her parents, Welton and Gladys Balthrop, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Garland Rex Lehman; and six siblings, James Balthrop, Anna Kirk, Dwaine Balthrop, Rodney Balthrop, Kenneth Balthrop, and Jerry Balthrop.
She is survived by her daughter, Kellye Lehman Beavers; two sons, Tracy Lynn Lehman and Dustin Rex Lehman and wife Holly; her grandchildren, Austin Beavers and Brianna, McKayla Skipworth and husband Brysen, Bethany Lehman and Josh, Jaidyn Lehman Wilson and husband Nathan, Montana Lehman Mitchell and husband Keaton, Jordan Kyle and husband Hayden, and Brittany Lawson and husband Tanner; great-grandchildren, Cayden, Clayton, Lucy, Lyndi, Malkin, Palmer, Spencer, Iris and Troy; her sister, Sybil Upchurch; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
