Sharlene Marie Spencer, 72, of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 30, 2025.
A celebration of Sharlene’s life will be planned for a later date.
Born on May 5, 1953, in Potsdam, New York, Sharlene was the beloved daughter of the late Donald Gaines Baxter and Barbara May Baxter. Her dedication and hard work were evident during her 22-year career at Moen, where she served as a team leader, earning the respect and affection of her colleagues.
In her leisure time, Sharlene enjoyed spending time with friends, going on fun outings, and traveling to discover new places. A lover of music, she always had a song in her heart and loved to sing her favorite tunes. Sharlene always loved the peacefulness of being by the water, whether at the beach or the river.
Sharlene was a beautiful Christian woman who will be remembered as loving wife of 36 years, amazing mother, and proud grandmother and great grandmother.
Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughter, Crystal Spradlin (Mike) of Havelock, NC; sons, Donnie Spencer (Crystal) of New Bern, NC and David Spencer Jr. (Kimmie) of Havelock, NC; step-daughters, Denise Myers (Ronnie) of Texas and Danette Reniger of Michigan; grandchildren, Jolene Kriegbaum, Alexandria Collins, Katelyn Mitchell, Hayli Pearce, Bobbie Shay Weber, David Spencer III, Donnie Spencer Jr. (Hannah), Michael Spradlin, and Anthony Spradlin; and great grandchildren, Declan Collins, Parker Pearce, Landon Mitchell, Cameron Pearce, Marshall Pearce, Marlowe Pearce, Bentleigh Barker, Riley Weber, and Julian Lewis.
In addition to her parents, Sharlene was preceded in death by her husband, David Richard Spencer; and sisters, Robin McVeen and Pam Shoemaker.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
