Christopher "Chris" Micheal Holder, 38, passed away on Monday, September 29, at his home in Garden Grove, California.
Chris’ family invites all to celebrate his life at 3:00pm on Friday, October 10, 2025, at First Methodist Church, Havelock, NC. The family will receive visitors in the hour before the service. For those unable to attend, the service can be viewed through their obituary page on Munden Funeral Home’s website. The service will remain on the Funeral Home website for 90 days.
Chris was born on July 1, 1987, in New Bern, North Carolina. He grew up in Havelock and graduated from Havelock High School in 2005. He had a successful career as a financial consultant after graduating from East Carolina University with a BS in Distribution and Logistics.
A deep love of sports fueled Chris’ active lifestyle. He first played baseball and soccer under his father's coaching and continued his competitive pursuits throughout his life. Chris could often be found during his off time swiftly rounding third base for his beloved adult softball team.
Friends and family knew Chris as a passionate follower of Jesus Christ and a giving selfless servant of others. He supported countless people through life events ranging from a simple move to recovery. Chris would gladly drop everything to do anything for anyone in need at a moment’s notice.
Chris lived with exuberant, passionate joy. He will be sorely missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his mother, Pamela Sanders Holder of Havelock; his fiancée, Colleen Barrett; stepfather, Robert "Bob" Emery Dorman Sr.; stepbrother, Christopher "Chris" Tyler Dorman; and his loving dogs, Riley, Cash, and Trixy. He is also survived by many loving family members and dear friends.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Micheal Lee (Mike) Holder; stepbrother, Robert (Bobby) Dorman, Jr.; grandparents, Dorothy Aman Sanders Williams, Norwood Ray Sanders, Sr., and Rachel and Sam Holder; and step grandfather, Hazzie B. Williams, all with whom he is now peacefully reunited.
Flowers may be sent to Munden Funeral Home in Havelock or donations may be made to your favorite charity in Chris’ memory.
