Sharon (Ward) Bossert passed away peacefully on March 26, 2021 at the age of 89. She was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Minot to Hazel (Knudson) and William Ward. Sharon was raised and educated in Minot, attending St. Leo’s Catholic School and the Minot Teacher’s College.
Sharon married Albert Bossert (Anne Lemer and Frank Bossert) on Oct 15, 1955 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Minot. They made their home in Drake working at Bossert Implement. Sharon later worked for many years at the Drake Creamery.
Sharon and Albert were life members of the Drake Threshing Assoc. For many years, Sharon and other ladies in the community prepared the food sold at the annual threshing shows drawing people from across the state. Rain or shine, you attended the show for the food as well as the fun.
Sharon was also a long-time member of the St. Margaret Mary Parish Guild serving church members by preparing and serving food at many church functions. It was well known that she was an amazing cook. Her German potato salad, turkey and dressing, and dill pickles will remain the highest standard that few people, if any, can match. Her pickles have travelled with many grand kids and family members when they came to visit. “Can I take a jar of pickles” was a common ask and she always had jars waiting to send along.
Sharon was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and she wasn’t afraid to correct any Viking fan on which team was better – Packers all the way!
Sharon will be deeply missed by her four children - Mark, Kevin (Michelle Schiele), Julie (Mark Jacobson), Paul (Chrissy Erdman); 7 grandchildren – Amanda (Ivan) Martic, Eric (Bridget) Bossert, Alex (Kelsie) Bossert, Anni (Ernie) Lageson, Kristen (Nick) Bowe, Brenden (Marcie) Jacobson, Landon Jacobson; and 13 great grandchildren.
Sharon answered God’s call and now joins her parents, husband Albert, sister Mary Jean, brother Pat, and many other family and friends that have gone before her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 10:30 A. M. at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Drake. Burial will take place at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., Tuesday at Nelson Funeral Home, Drake and an hour prior to the service at church. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Tuesday at the church. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no luncheon or time of fellowship following the funeral service. Arrangements are with Nelson Funeral Home of Drake. Online condolences may be shared at nelsonfuneralhomesnd.com

Julie, I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. She was a strong woman (I was a little intimidated by her duringour school days!); may your grief be lessened by lots of good memories. You are giving her back to God during the holiest week of the year. May she rest in the peace of Christ.
