Not sure what to say?

Just heard of Silas´s passing and was very sorry at that. I met Silas about 25+ years ago shopping for my husband some Carhardt attire which he was very helpful and of course encouraged me to get some as well! After that i would occasionally stop in to take a look around and talk with him! I will miss him! RIP Silas

It was a step back in time to visit and talk to Silas, I'll miss him, so sorry for your loss

Met Silas in 1978 when I was transferred to the 30th Engineer Brigade in Charlotte. I soon learned that Silas was in Thailand the same time that I was in Vietnam. We became good friends through the years serving on many tours with the Army National Guard. When Silas transferred to the Army Reserve we remained in contact and I went by the General Store several times a year to talk old times and went on some of the Tractor Club trips. Silas was a true friend to me all of these years and will...

I was the postal carrier at the store for many years and always enjoyed looking around the store and visiting. Silas always made me feel like part of his family. I´m sorry for your loss.

So sorry. His wisdom and friendship will be missed RIP

I had the honor of serving with Silas in the NCNG. He always had a great story to tell and would bring a smile. Although I had not seen him in years I knew that he was doing what he always love to do and that was be in the store. Sharing the family history and talking to both old and new friends. I am truly sorry to hear of his passing.

Wash Davis store will not be the same without Silas. this was the store my dad always bought his overalls and seeds and anything he needed for the garden; I loved tagging along. My thoughts and prayers are with your family
