Sixto “Cisco” Olvera, 83, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 6, 1942, in Terlingua, Texas, to Socorro Medrano and Isidro Olvera.
Cisco lived a life defined by hard work, strong hands, and a generous heart. He spent many years as a sheep shearer and welder, mastering his trades with pride and skill. Later in life, he found great joy in becoming a restaurant owner, opening Cisco and Alice’s Café, where he never met a stranger. He was kind, funny, and always eager to share a conversation, a story, or a warm smile. He loved meeting new people and could make anyone feel welcome.
He was known for his impeccable taste in cologne, you could always tell when Cisco entered a room by the warm, distinguished fragrance that followed, a trait he passed onto his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A man of many passions, he loved restoring classic cars and had a playful fondness for collecting Tweety Bird memorabilia, and you would always find a bottle of Sprite by his side.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Alexandra Olvera; his son, Andrew Louis Olvera; siblings, Ambrosio “Frank” Olvera, Concha Cerda, Victor Olvera, and several siblings who passed in infancy; and his granddaughter, Alejandra Ercilia Loredo.
Cisco leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is survived by his children: Jerry (Teresa) Olvera, Linda (Antonio) Loredo, Cisco Jr, (Dana) Olvera, and Isaak Olvera; sister Frances Rodriguez; niece Carolyn Buckaloo; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren, all of whom were his pride and joy. His love and guidance will continue to live on through each of them.
Pallbearers are Isaak Olvera, Tony Loredo, Enrique “Kiki” Loredo, Emiliano “Nano” Loredo.
Visitation will be Thursday November 6th from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Victory Tabernacle Holiness Church 5761 Watauga Rd, Watauga, TX 76148.
A Celebration of Cisco’s life will be Friday November 7th at 12:00 p.m. at Victory Tabernacle Holiness Church. Tony “Goombus” Loredo to officiate.
