Not sure what to say?

I spent several years with Steve in Gainesville as roommates. We had stayed in touch over the years and I always looked forward to our phone calls and meetings. I will miss him and his sense of humor as well as his zest for life. My condolences to his family.

I was deeply saddened to read of Steve's passing. We were friends when he was at FSU. I was a very unsure sophmore in the theatre department and he gave me true friendship and guidance when I needed it. We had a common background in surfing and a similarly warped sense of humour.
I lost touch when he left FSU for Pa. but our paths literally crossed in the Atlanta airport in 1983 and we kept in touch for a few years while he was in California. I always meant to get in touch when he moved...

OUR CONDOLENCES TO THE DANKO FAMILY WE WERRE VERY FOND OF STEVE AND WILL MISS HIM THE WAGNERS GREG TOBY AND FAYE

I will miss Steve! I did not know him well, but always enjoyed getting to spend time with him. I was a few years younger than Steve and as a youth admired his ability as an athlete. I looked up to him for his basketball and surfing ability. In later years, I enjoyed his wit and insight. It was always great time to be in his company. My sympathy to his family and friends! He had to leave early, but will always be in my memories!

I did not know Steve well or for very long. I was in his company just a few times early in his career-start in photography, when he resided in Daytona Beach. As I remember back to that time and reading about Steve now, it is good to know he obtained the recognition he did in the photographic world, his youthful aspirations accomplished. His insightful, humorous sharp-witted opinions/remarks lightly laced with a bit of sarcasm were delightful. My sympathies are with his loved ones and with...

Our sympathies to Diane and all of Steve's dear friends. Birth and death are opposites; life neither begins nor ends.
Very best,
Katherine and Steve Aimone

I WENT TO GRADE SCHOOL WITH STEVE. I ALWAYS LIKED HIM. HE WAS A GOOD PERSON AND I AM SURE HE WILL BE TRULY MISSED BY HIS FAMILY. I HAD NOT SEEN HIM IN QUITE A FEW YEARS BUT I ALWAYS REMEMBERED HIM. I WOULD THINK ABOUT HIM EVERY NOW AND THEN AND WONDER WHAT HE WAS DOING AND WHERE HE WAS. I WAS SO SORRY TO HEAR OF HIS PASSING. I LEFT DAYTONA IN 66 SO I LOST TRACK OF ALOT OF PEOPLE OVER THE YEARS. I WILL KEEP HIS FAMILY IN MY PRAYERS

Steve's love of life was infectious. It was hard to be in a bad mood around him. I shall miss his wit, his warped sense of humor and his positive attitude on life. But most of all I will miss his friendship. I extend my most heartfelt sympathy to Diane and to his family.

To The Danko Family,
I was so sorry to read of Stephen's death.....We were friends while attending SHS, and I still remember he was called "The King of Surfers"!
He was always so much fun to be with, always laughing!!!
After moving to Tampa my husband and I attended a exibition at the Tampa Museum of Art, and to my surprise there was a photograph by Steve!!! I regret not keeping in touch, however I did try to explore on the internet, but never with success. My thoughts are with...
