Tracy J. Barber

Tracy J. Barber, a beloved tree trimmer recognized as one of the finest in the country, departed this world on October 30, 2025, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on October 3, 1962, in Richmond, Missouri, Tracy lived a life rich with passion and dedication, embodying the essence of hard work within the branches of nature he so cherished. He was known for his remarkable skills, trimming trees from towering Redwoods to sturdy Pine trees, shaping the landscapes around him with both artistry and expertise.

Tracy's heart was as vast as the forests he worked within. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, always ready to lend a helping hand. His laughter echoed through the woods, accompanied by enthralling stories that delighted anyone lucky enough to sit by his side. He enjoyed camping under the stars, casting lines on serene waters, and though he loved fishing, the thrill of competition meant he never liked to be "out fished." Amid the tapestry of his interests and endeavors stood his prized possession, his Red Dodge truck, a faithful companion through countless journeys.

Cherished by his family, Tracy is survived by his mother, Barbara Daniels; his children, Tracy, Scott and Christy Barber, Tina (Jeff) Lamb, Missy Burbank, Kimberly Troy; his brother, Dale Barber; and his brothers, Michael, Mark, Matthew Daniels; his sisters, Kerry (Mike) Peel, Jennifer (Mike) Purvis, Julienne Barber, and Marlene Falco. Tracy’s legacy blooms brightly through his eleven grandchildren, who carry pieces of his vibrant spirit forward into the world.

He now joins those who have gone before him: his wife Patty; his father, Leroy Barber Jr.; his stepfather, David Daniels; and his brothers, LeRoy and Christpher Barber. Their memories serve as a comforting embrace around those Tracy leaves behind.

The celebration of Tracy’s life will take place at a later date. As we gather on this day, may we find solace in sharing our favorite tales of Tracy – the man who embraced the world with open arms, carved stories into the lives of others, and whose love for nature was mirrored in the warmth he showed all he met.
