Bumpy was a major influence on my life, as on many others. I met her at the Anchorage Literacy Project, where she matched volunteer tutors with adult literacy and ESL students. She was easy to talk to and sensitive to the concerns of volunteers, staff, and students. Her perceptiveness paved the way for many a student to enter and succeed in a learning program.
