Wanda H. (Kaminski) Vaghini, died Monday, January 4, 2021, one day shy of her 103rd birthday.
She is survived by two daughters: Carol A. Morissette, of Leominster, and Janice A. Aranoff, and her husband, Stephen, of Pebble Beach, CA; a granddaughter, Paula J. Consalvo; two great-grandchildren, Stefanie Loebertman and Melissa Spadafore; one great-great-granddaughter, Briella Loebertman; a brother, Edward Kaminski, and his wife, Lee, of Fairfield, CT; and a sister, Irene Abramowicz of Ellington, CT; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years, Alfred A. Vaghini, who died in 2007, and their granddaughter, Pamela (Morissette) Rhodes, who died in 2018. Five siblings, Agnes A. Egan, Antoinette Jason, Frances Tibbetts, Francis Kaminski, and Stanley Kaminski, also predeceased her.
Wanda was born and raised in Clinton, daughter of Polish Immigrants Stanley and Bernice (Kowalewska) Kaminski. She attended local schools.
For many years, she worked as a weaver at the former Blackstone Plush, Clinton. She later was employed as an assembler at Ray-O-Vac, formerly of Clinton, before her retirement.
A devout Catholic, Wanda was a member of St. John’s Church, where she regularly attended Novena and Adoration. She was the world’s greatest cook – no one who ever left her company could say they were hungry.
Wanda’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton, with a Mass at 12:00 noon in St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster. There are no calling hours. In accordance with current guidelines, the use of face masks, and the practice of social distancing will be required at the funeral home, church and cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Attn: Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
