Wendol W. West

Wendol W. West – 78 Of Valdosta passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at his residence after a brief illness. He was born in Pitts, GA on June 17, 1932 to the late Tommie J. & Lola Evelyn (Pitts) West. Mr. West was a past Post Commander in Valdosta and retired from the Georgia State Patrol after 32 years and 6 months of service. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church, the Mason's, the Shriner's, St. John the Baptist Lodge# 184, Hansen Temple and was an avid Lowndes Viking fan where he was a member of the Lowndes Touchdown Club. He served on the Lowndes County BOE and as a Board Member with DFACS. Mr. West is survived by his Wife of 55 years Mary Beth West Valdosta, GA Daughter & Son-in-law Cathy & Phillip Chastain Naylor, GA Son Greg West Atlanta, GA Brothers & Sisters-in-law Tommie Lee & Ellen West Cordele, GA Benny & Joyce West Cordele, GA Brother-in-law Jack Westbrook Ellijay, GA Sister-in-law Shirley West Cordele, GA A number of Nieces and Nephews As per his wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held in his honor at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 9, 2011 in Shiloh United Methodist Church with Pastor Adam Tucker and Rev. Carl Howard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the church.
