I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Wes' family and friends. I am in debt to Wes for the privalege of being one of his many graduate students. His generosity sharing his knowledge and experience with me in ANWR During the summer of 1986 was one of the highlights in my geologic career. Our crossing of the Jago River returning from Leffingwell Ridge to our camp adjacent to the Okpilak Batholith was nothing short of miraculous. He was a force to be reckoned with in the field.
