Dear Ray,
I just returned from vacation & learned of Billy's death. I have many nice memories of Bill & Sears Ave.--we would talk & laugh so often. He spent his life giving & always with a smile. My condolences to you Ray. I know how close you were.

Almost 44 years ago I met Billy when we were both walking down Sears Ave, both on our way to do some shopping at Nick's. A friendship was born that morning that came to enrich my life like no other friendship has since. When people say Billy was always there for you, they're not mouthing empty sentiments. While I was a student at Harmony Hill for 6 years, the only person who wrote to me regularly was Billy. Many times the only positive thing in my life was anticipating the almost weekly letter from Billy. I loved him like a brother and will miss him terribly until I too am gone. The world has lost a true servant and friend.

Bill was always there, if anyone needed a hand he was there to give it. It seems like he was there morning, noon and night. I used to come in late or early depending on whatni had to do and he would be there. The VA and the Veterans and Staff will surely miss him.

Billy was the kindest and most dedicated person I have ever had the priviledge of knowing. He should be an inspiration for everyone. Be at rest Billy.
