William Hurst Obituary
August 17, 1954 - October 28, 2025
Vancouver, WA-William "Bill" Archie Hurst passed away peacefully at home on October 28th, 2025, surrounded by his kids and wife and a lot of love.
Born August 17th, 1954, Bill lived a full and spirited life that took him many places - from Denver, Colorado, to Salt Lake City, Utah, to Portland, Oregon - and finally to Vancouver, Washington, where he and his wife, Debbie, made their home.
Bill attended Cottonwood and Olympus High Schools in Utah before becoming a proud graduate of the University of Utah, Bill loved being the "neutral man" between his in-laws (Husky fans) and kids (Cougar grads) during Apple Cups every year. Bill spent his career consulting with medical offices and hospitals, helping them refine their business plans and operations. He was known for his sharp mind, his ability to problem-solve, and the kind of humor that made even meetings more bearable.
Bill was truly the life of the party. He cherished weekends with his kids including golfing with his daughter and youngest son or crabbing with his oldest son, coastal getaways with Debbie, and football season, when his legendary football pool carried on as a family tradition.He was also a man who could build just about anything. From his backyard gazebo to the play area and deck he constructed by hand, Bill's craftsmanship and creativity live on in every project he touched.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Hurst; children, Donny (Erica) Hurst, Darrah Hurst, and David Hurst; his brother David (Cathy) Hurst; his sister Pam (Mike) Dennison; brother-in-law Charles Reynolds; mother-in-law Diane (Sonny) Breunig; sister-in-law Chris Pederson; and brother-in-law Steve Rohrbach. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who adored their Uncle Bill as much as he adored them.
He was preceded in death by his sister Polly Reynolds, parents Donald and Diane Hurst, and his father-in-law George (Connie) Rohrbach.
A celebration of Bill's life will be held at a later date.
