William "Buddy" McCann, 87, of Point Pleasant passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Newark, he lived in Orange, NJ before moving to Point Pleasant in 1965. Buddy proudly served his country with the United States Navy during World War II. He was an auto mechanic in Essex County and then worked for Surf Chevrolet in Point Pleasant Beach until his retirement.

Buddy was predeceased by his wife, Joan in 2010. He is survived by his dear friends, Bob Alexander of Point Pleasant and Eleanor Shadel of Whiting.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 4-8 pm at Van Hise & Callagan Funeral Home, 812 Arnold Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday morning at 11:00 am at St. Peter's Church in Point Pleasant Beach, followed by interment at St. Anne's Cemetery in Wall, NJ.
