William Lemuel Thomas, age 89, died Tuesday October 30, 2018 at his home in Poplar Grove. He was born at West Helena October 30, 1929, the son of William Ernest and Winnie Duren Thomas. William worked at Mohawk Rubber Company and on the farm. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marvell and was a US Army veteran.
William is survived by his wife: Mary Ruth Thomas of Poplar Grove
One daughter: Reta Kay Batts (Mark) of Haynes, AR
Two sons: Charles Thomas (Alvin) of Eureka Springs, AR
Timothy E. Thomas (Monica) of Poplar Grove
Four grandchildren: Jessica Laino (Jose), Jennifer Nash (Tyler), Eric Thomas (Sarah), and Kyle Thomas
Four great grandchildren: Nathan Peterson, Kyzer Gordon, Bentley Gordon, Larissa Laino
Two sisters in law: Kay Thomas and Rose Ann Thomas
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: William E. Thomas Jr., Roy Eugene Thomas, and Billy Earl Thomas; and a sister: Estelle Loomis
Pallbearers: Chris Kale, Pointer Hall Sr., Gene Russell, Donnie Loomis, Terry Fuller, and Curtis Storey
Honorary Pallbearers: Ronnie Loomis and Brian Thomas
Visitation for William Thomas will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday November 2 with funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, all at Bob Neal & Sons-Brickell Funeral Home in Marvell.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Barton.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 838, Marvell, AR 72366, the American Cancer Society or charity of your choice
