Dale A Gittings, 85, of Naples Florida, passed away on June 30th, 2016 in Big Pine Key Florida.

A Memorial Service will be on Friday, September 2nd, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fuller Funeral Home at 1625 Pine Ridge Road, Naples Florida, 34109.

Dale was born in Chicago Illinois to Chalmer and Nelle Gittings on September 6, 1930. He went to school at John Mills Grade school, Leyden Township High school and Elmhurst Collage where he received a BS degree in engineering. He was preceded in death by his wife Winonna Gittings. Dale had a great career as the CEO for Data Automation and electronics, Industrial engineer for the Warwick Corporation, was the General manager for National Lock and Key of Rockford Illinois, and CEO of Gittings and associates before his retirement. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Army and attained the rank of Major and was still a member of the retired reserve at his death. He also served in the Illinois National Guard and was very active with the VFW where he served as quartermaster for many years.

Dale was involved in many organizations including Golden Gate VFW post 7721, Military officers of America, Studebaker Drivers Club, and was President for southwest Gulf chapter of the Studerbaker Drivers club and a devoted restorer of antique cars.

Dale is preceded in death by His father and mother Chalmer and Nelle Gittings, His twin brother Donald and 2 wife's Florence and Winonna Gittings.

Dale is survived by his first spouse Margitta, Sons Dale C Gittings, John F. Gittings, Brian K Gittings, step children Gail Miers, and Ronald Nelson, grand children Michael, Stacey, John, Cheryl, Renee, Kim, Mike T and Kristen, and 11 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Golden Gate VFW or the Visiting Nurses Association of the Florida Keys.
