Adam Anthony Butchy

Adam Anthony Butchy, 88 FALLBROOK -- Adam Anthony Butchy died Monday, March 1, 2010. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, he served in the military during World War II and was stationed in North Africa as an airplane mechanic. Following the war, he became a Greyhound bus driver in the Washington DC area and then he married and moved to West Virginia. He eventually moved to Harrisburg while raising six children. He retired from Greyhound circa 1978 and soon moved to Escondido, Calif. Over the past 30 years he lived in Escondido, Vista and Fallbrook. He was married to the late Virginia Pauline Thompson and then the late Carole Alexander. He is survived by sisters, Joan Crumly, Nancy Shisler, Carol Wilson, and Dolly Brown Clifton; brother, Micheal Lewis Butchy; children, Bonny Marie Butchy, James Michael Butchy, David Patton Butchy, and Nancy Colleen Butchy; and grandchildren, Catherine Veronica Butchy, Margaret Virginia Butchy, and Adam Anthony Butchy. He was also father to the late Linda Susan DeBadts, and the late Janet Maureen Butchy. He had a great love for the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing and farming. He will be fondly remembered for his loyalty and love of his family and his faith. Visitation will be held at the Berry- Bell & Hall Mortuary, 333 N. Vine St., Fallbrook, Calif., on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 from 4 pm to 6 pm. On Wednesday, March 10, 2010, a Rosary Prayer will be said at 9:30 am and a traditional Requiem Catholic Mass will be held at 10 am in the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery Chapel, 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego, Calif.
