Jo and John were significant people in my life and the life of my twin brother when we lived with my Father and stepmom in Carlsbad. Visited them often as my father was a close friend of John and also a Marine. My stepsister lived with Jo for a year in order to finish High School at Carlsbad HS when the family was relocated to New York in 1962. Hope you are loving Heaven Jo! Love you, Bob Stein

Jo and John Bloom were very close friends with my father and stepmom, Eddie Stein and Kathleen. I met them when I came to live with my father in Carlsbad. They were wonderful people who always made you feel at home in their Carlsbad residence.

In loving honor of my husband John, I want to thank everyone for their condolences and caring thoughts. Jo was quite a woman, and lived a rich and full life. She loved gardening, her volunteer work, her family and many friends. Though ill in her final years and living far away, she left an indelible mark in her adopted home of Carlsbad. She was, as they used to say, a "Heck of a Broad", able to drive long haul trucks while taking care of her home and the son she so adored. I could never thank her enough for having him. She is now at peace with her late husband John, or J.T. as some called him, or Grumpy, as she fondly referred to him. Though she has lived away for a few years and I haven't seen her, I shall miss her. Due to health problems her son John will be unable to attend her funeral, but he will definitely be there in spirit.Though Jo and I didn't always agree on things, I grew to appreciate her and how much she gave of herself to help others. The one thing we always agreed on was our love for her son, and she was always there for him. My prayers are with her and I will always remember her and her strengh of spirit. Aloha, Jo, and thank you for all the wonderful things you did. With fond thoughts and memories, Vicky Bloom (AKA wife #3)

Jo and John Bloom were such good friends of my father, Eddie Stein and my stepmom Kathleen. I was in their home many times on Las Flores in Carlsbad and they put me up one summer during a return visit from New York City. A good strong caring woman is not at peace with the angels! My love and prayers for her family, Bob Stein

John: My grand daughter attends Las Flores grade school by your mom's house in Carlsbad. As we go by your house, it always brings back sentimental memories of your mom.
Peace be with you and your family,
John Penrod and family.
