William "Bill" N. Hunt

HEATH: A funeral service for William "Bill" Nicholas Hunt, 81, of Heath, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011, at First Baptist Church of Newark, 1000 Granville Street, with Pastor Ellen Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Hunt was born July 23, 1930 in Newark, to the late John and Pauline (Snyder) Hunt. He retired from the Licking County Engineer's Office after 33 years. He passed away August 10, 2011 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus.

He was a member of First Baptist Church for 43 years, where he served on the Board of Deacons, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Treasurer, Board of Human Resources, Pulpit Committee, Usher, and Ad Hoc Committee for land acquisition.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 in the U.S. Military Intelligence Corp as a photo interpreter. He was a member of Newark Lodge No. 97 F & AM. He received his 50 year pin in 2009. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and photography. Mr. Hunt is survived by his wife, Emma J. (Carpenter) Hunt whom he married October 31, 1951. Other survivors include: three brothers - John R. "Bob" (LaDonna) Hunt of Newark, David (Marilyn) Hunt of Hebron, James (Marlene) Hunt of Newark; two sisters - Mary (Ronald) Alspach of Thornville, Judy (Danny) Bevard of St. Louisville; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home where Masonic Honors by Lodge #97 will be conducted at 5:45 p.m. Memorial contributions in Bill's name and memory may be made to First Baptist Church of Newark, or Hospice of Central Ohio.
