Mr. Gutridge was a positive influence during my high school times in running with Mindy and Missy in cross-country and track. He always had encouraging words to offer, a smile, and knew how to keep us "girls" working in the same direction. I often recall him at the finish of an event at a track meet, telling each athlete our times and providing positive words. He was always there at every x-c meet, challenging us to push forward individually and as a team. His smile was motivating. I recall us, x-c seniors girls, waiting to "wave" at him as he rode on the train and we were headed somewhere on 37; it was so cool! His inspiring talk to all of us, senior girls in x-c, are quite often a reflection that I look back on that provided words to assist me even today on importance of teamwork, positivity, and values.
May God Bless your family in this time of sorrow but also rejoice his memories on this Earth,

Michele, Mindy & Missy:
My heart and prayers go out to you. Your dad was a wonderful man. I have many memories of him from the racing days, and when I would babysit. He was a good friend to my mom (Kay Bascomb). I understand your grief, as we just buried mom on Monday. Many prayers.
