Dear Jane and family; The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 40 of New Bern NC wanted to let you know how sorry we are to hear about your husband's passing on 1 Feb 2013. He served American during the Vietnam War. Being a recipient of a Silver Star says a lot about your husband. Serving in the National Guard as well as the U.S. Army and being inducted into NC Military Academy Hall of Fame.
The longer we live the more we learn, yet all our experience doesn't really seem to help when it comes to the loss of someone we care about. Veterans throughout the U. S. have lost a good friend. May God bless you and your family.

Jane,
It is with terrible sadness that I read of Willie's passing. We all had so many good times together. There was no better Grouper chief and if Willie were to judge no better cooker of pigs. He will be sorely missed. However you will never, ever be forgotten and will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

Jane , and Family : I haven't been in touch with Willie since 1961; but we had a lot of "fun" getting into and out of 'trouble ' at Contentnea High School... He studied hard , and played tough on the football field... I remember his '55-56 Studebaker ...with the Packard engine ... and many other fun time... He was "one of a kind " ...as I am sure you well know...It was My privilige to have been his acquaintance !
