Howard Luckhardt Obituary

NEW BERN - Howard Louis Luckhardt Jr., 70, of the Fairfield Harbour community and for-merly of Watermill, N.Y., died July 27, 2010, at Brook Stone Living Center.

Mr. Luckhardt was a member of Southampton Golf Club, Elks Lodge, C.E.R.T.S., and he en-joyed golfing, snowmobiling, skiing, travel, fine dining, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one sister, Suzanne Walsh.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia; one son, Howard Luckhardt of Allen, Texas; one daughter, Penelope "Penny" Elliot of Wamberal, Australia; his sister, Cynthia Berkoski of Roch-ester, N.H.; and four grandchildren, Amanda and Brandon Luckhardt and Indigo and Amber Elliot.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, at Cotten Chapel. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cotten Funeral Home.

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to Community Home Care & Hospice, 1319 A S. Glenburnie Road, New Bern, NC 28562, Boys Town National Headquarters, 14100 Crawford St., Boys Town, NE 68010 or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.

my condolence to the family.may god bless you and keep you.i remember the first week howard came the nursing home and we were having ice cream social.that really made his day.and it bless me too that he was enjoying something he liked.rest in peace howard
