Bobby Mayers Obituary

NEWARK, N.J. — Mr. Bobby Ray Mayers, 70, departed this earthly life on February 16, 2015 in Newark, New Jersey. He was born to the late Mr. Broadus Mayers and the late Mrs. Sadie Bowers Mayers on September 13, 1944 in Little Mountain, South Carolina.

He was a member of Providence A.M.E Church in Little Mountain, SC.

Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories are his wife, Shelia Reid Mayers of the home; seven step-children; four brothers, James Mayers (Maggie), Bernard Mayers and Alexander Mayers all of Columbia, SC and Johnnie Mayers (Melissa) of Augusta, Georgia; five sisters, Mildred Cannon and Mattie Starks both of Columbia, SC, Nancy Bowers (Sylvester), Nezie Bowers (Emory) and Susie Meggett (Julius) all of Little Mountain, SC; two aunts; two uncles; one great aunt; two sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Christ Lutheran Church (1323 Winyah Dr, Columbia, SC). Burial will follow in Werts Cemetery of Newberry, SC. (Viewing one hour prior to the service).
