Alice McCarthy Obituary
Alice passed away May 25, 2011 at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township.
She was born June 22, 1911, in Painesville.
Alice was a switchboard operator at Painesville City Hall for 35 years retiring in 1976.
She was a 1929 graduate of Thomas W. Harvey High School. She was an accomplished bowler, enjoyed gardening and her pets. She was a devoted lifetime member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Painesville.
She is survived by her niece, Mary Catherine (Ed) Bray, Diane Dougherty and Paulette (Bob) Howard; nephew, Michael (Donna) Dougherty; and numerous other nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Mary Ellen (Hurley) McCarthy; brothers, Charles and Joseph McCarthy; twin sister, Agnes Dougherty; and sister, Helen Hug.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary Painesville St. Vincent DePaul Organization or The Hospice of the Western Reserve, 5786 Heisley Road, Mentor, OH 44060.

At the time of Allie;s 90th bithday, mom wasnt doing real well. Fearful that I would be emotional if Allie was also unwell, I called MaeyC to inquire how Allie was doing in general....Mary's reply "She is out painting the house or I'd put her on the phone."
