We were sorry to hear about Edith's passing. Since she came into our lives about 15 years ago, she took a keen interest in the research we did about the Hietanen family. She was happy to have the reunions to get to meet her cousins again, and to meet cousins she hadn't met before. She always helped with whatever we needed help with whether it be researching, sharing information, contacting people or helping with the reunions she loved. She was always interested in getting to know us better and made the effort to keep in touch. We'll miss her. You're all in our thoughts and prayers.

I was sorry to hear that Mrs. Edith Wilde has passed away and tomorrow is her funeral. I tried yesterday to send e-mail to Vickie , but the address was an old e-mail came back. I do not know how to use form, which should be able to write a tribute. If you meet Edith's family, then tell them that I lighting a candle here in her memory. I'm glad that Edith visited Finland. She and Scott had tea with me. It's been many years. it may be 7-8 years.

Mrs. Wilde was my first grade teacher in 1968 at Red Bird Elementary. She made a deep impression on me the first day. She introduced herself as Mrs. Wilde and said "some say I am wild." She raised her eyebrows and gave us a stern look. As a class we did not forget! She was kind and many years later I have fond memories of her. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Our Aunt Ede will be remembered with such love. She was a very caring, kind woman. When Mike and I married in 1987, she and Vickie hosted my bridal shower. I can remember thinking how sweet and thoughtful they were. They welcomed me warmly into the family and I always held that dear to my heart. She always took the time to write a short note in our cards and always remembered us. She will be missed by all of us. Love and prayers, Michael and Stephanie Piispanen
