Buddy, I always admired you because you "knew how to live life!" As a result, people were drawn to you and wanted to be around you. What a wonderful testament to you! I will always treasure my years with you and our Band of Brothers from ECPD . Thank you for all of the good times and all that you taught me. Like so many who knew you, I will never forget you.....

It was a pleasure and an honor to know Buddy especially back in the days when he would visit Station 2 E.C.F.D. on Shaw. Even after his shift was over he would return and have dinner with us. Lynn and family you have a treasure chest of memories of Buddy that you will cherish forever. R.I.P. my friend. (We will have that cup of coffee once again)

So sorry for your loss. My mom, Barb Prots, officiated for years with Buddy. They always looked out for each other and it was much appreciated. He never missed a chance to pass on a smile and I loved talking to him at VB meetings and banquets.

I grew up in a Sicilian family there were a ton of us. We were surrounded by love, joy, sadness, and of course A LOT of food. With so many different generations it was hard to find your place, however what they say is true. There is nothing that is more important than family and no one will ever have your back more, no matter what.
I lost my brother today, our relationship Definity had its up's and down's, but in the end nothing more important than family no matter what.
My brother as I was growing up was larger than life and I adored him I thought he walked on water.
When he went into the Navy, I was 5 yrs. old and I remember feeling so very sad that I would not see him much now. I was wrong, after his basic training he was home almost every weekend and I thought this isn't so bad. Wrong again, then he was assigned his ship. The Yosemite was his home for the next couple of years. Now I am 6 yrs. old I did not understand why my Father was so nervous about my brother being at sea. It is 1962 and we have just entered the Cuban Missile Crisis. And it wasn't until Buddy came home when my Mom told me why Daddy was so nervous. Buddy was there on his ship protecting our country so that I didn't have to hide under my desk at school anymore, I guess that is how you tell a six-year-old that her brother was a Hero. And to me well that never changed even when we had our issues, he was always the Hero and always Bigger than life.
He is with my Mom, Dad, and his sister Carm, plus many of that Sicilian family that has gone before us. Hell, it is getting to the point where there are more of them up there than down here.
Always in my heart.
I love you
Rest in Peace my dear brother, if you can, you know Annie is there right? Just joking.

Dear Lynda: I was so sorry to hear about Buddy. We first met many many years ago when he bowled on the police league at the Eastgate Coliseum. Our league played next to the police league. Over the years we would see each other when he would deliver Juvenile Court subpoenas. He was one heck of a guy with a great personality and sense of humor. May God welcome him with open arms to the gates of Heaven.

So many memories going back to the early 80's when our two families first met, but the one story of Buddy that always brings a smile to my face was when we went to a Browns v Pittsburg game and sat in the bleachers surrounded by Steeler fans. Big Buddy wearing his Browns , 1964 Championship hat (a turned down sailors cap) that barely fit his noggin.
Buddy, (always the defender of the defenseless), stood holding a bag of peanuts as he watched two clean cut young guys wearing John Carroll jackets being harassed by a few well lubricated Steeler "tough guys". Buddy's eyes narrowed as he watched. He took a shelled peanut and somehow whipped it between the innocent heads to bean the ring leader of the "tough guys" who began to turn around before he caught a glimpse of the hulk that was Buddy. The guy turned back around and pretended like he hadn't seen Buddy, but he discontinued he bully act. Buddy gave him about 3 more plunks in the gourd with peanuts just so he would remember who was behind him. Soon the Pittsburg guys were buying the JC boys beer. I'm sure those lads had no idea they had a guardian angel. Love you Buddy! Rest in peace. I was blessed to have known you.

Lynn and family, I was devastated to have heard the news of Buddy's passing. He was a brother, best friend, confidante, and much more. We never had a lunch without him bragging about you, the kids, and the grandkids. Family was always priority one with him. I looked forward to our lunches each month. Sally and I wish that your wonderful memories of him become a blessing to all of you. I will miss him tremendously.

We were Fellow officers on The East Cleveland Police Department. Buddy helped me tremendously when I was a rookie back in 1976. I always remember that thick curly head of hair he had and how he always joking around and teasing. After nearly 40 years I finally saw him a couple years ago at Eddie Baldzicki's Christmas Eve birthday party. Such a great man. You will be missed. "RIP MY Old Friend"
