Sylvia Iwaszko, 76, of Willoughby, passed away Sept. 1, 2011, in Cleveland.
Born Dec. 23, 1934, in Slovenia, she was a Willoughby resident for 50 years.
Sylvia was a waitress at the former Harley Hotel.
She was the mother of Sandy (David) Faller of Lakewood, Susan (Greg) Porach of Cleveland and Michelle Iwaszko (David) Wells of Lyndhurst; grandmother of Carley, Nick Porach, Andrew Porach, Michael Wells, Alex Wells, Brady Wells, Sarah Wells and Hannah Wells; great-grandmother of Madalyn and Matthew; and sister of John Goste, Bruna Koch, Erna Warren, Emma Smith and Martha Goforth.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Iwaszko.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at Immaculate Conception Church, Willoughby.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at Schulte & Mahon-Murphy Funeral Home, 5252 Mayfield Road, Lyndhurst. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
Contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Association.

I miss you so very much Sylvia and still cannot believe sometimes that you are gone and I can't call you up, take a walk on the beach with you, go to a movie or take a walk thru downtown Willoughby...........just some of the special things we did together. I will never forget you!!! Love, Eileen

Dearest Sylvia..our "boo-zards"have arrived in the valley behind your house again. It was always a big event for us when they returned each Spring.not exactly swallows in Capistrano, but they were our buzzards. I can not help but think that you have sent us this mild weather..as a sign that you are happy and that we should get on with life, perhaps?
