Veronica Johnston Obituary
Mrs. Johnston died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at the Slovene Home for the Aged.
She was born Dec. 13, 1914, in Cleveland and was a 60-year resident of Euclid.
She and her husband were founding members of the former St. Robert Bellarmine Parish in Euclid, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and the Legion of Mary.
She was a longtime secretary for the Euclid Teachers Association. She loved to entertain and cook, was an avid card player, and enjoyed get-togethers with family and friends. Her passions were her family, her Catholic faith, and her Irish heritage.
She was the beloved mother of Martha (Kenneth) Schonauer and Brian (Diane); grandmother of Stephenie Spurr, Melissa (Ron) Gianguzzo, Julianne Trobenter, Kristen (Shane) Mignogna and Megan (Chad) Kayser; and great-grandmother of eight. She was also a cherished aunt, great-aunt and devoted friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert J. "Hub"; parents, Dennis and Mary (Sweeney) Doyle; and sister, Marie Courtot.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Veronica from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at The DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop and Route 91). The Rev. Martin F. Polito, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
