Raymond Gulzeth Obituary

Celebration of Life Service for Raymond L. Gulzeth, 90, will be Friday, March 7, 2014 at 12 noon at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Road and Route 91). Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Ray, from 11 to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Gulzeth passed away March 4, 2014 at Manor Care Nursing Home in Mayfield Hts.
He was born Dec. 2, 1923 in Euclid.
Ray was a resident of Richmond Heights for 4 years after moving from Mentor. After graduating from Euclid High School and spending some time at Ohio State, Ray worked as a Tool and Die Maker at Skrl Tool and Die and Basic Aluminum. He was a World War II U.S. Army-Air Corps Veteran and member of VFW Post 1056, the Moose Club and the Elks Club. While Ray enjoyed golf, bowling, working puzzles, playing slot machines and listening to music, he really enjoyed driving a taxi. His family will remember him as a very kind, hard-working, private man who was set in his ways, taught through example and had a good sense of humor.
He is survived by his children, son, Raymond H. (wife Annette) of NJ, daughter, Dr. Susan Gulzeth (husband William Trouten, DVM) of Willoughby Hills; grandchildren, Lauren and Tiffany; and two great-grandchildren.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly (nee Alliger); one brother and one sister.
