EDWIN DEADY Obituary


Edwin T. Deady, 85, of Port Orange, passed away March 4th, 2011. The family will receive friends on Thursday March 10, 2011 from 11-12 with a funeral service at 12:00pm at Cardwell Funeral Home, 3571 S Ridgewood Ave. Burial to follow at Daytona Memorial Park. Eddie was born on August 6th, 1925, in New York City, NY to Lucille Zonfrillo Deady and Thomas E. Deady. He joined the U.S. Army at the age of 17 and served in the Military Police in Korea during the Korean War. In 1977, after 20 years working for the Parks and Recreation Department in Queens, NY, he retired and moved to Daytona Beach to assist his aging parents. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and Daytona Beach Shores Eagles Club. Eddie was an avid reader, enjoyed studying astronomy, and was a fan of the New York Jets and Mets. He was loved by his family and friends for his sense of humor, caring and generous disposition. He will be greatly missed by all. Eddie is survived by Best Friend Lauren Wiggins of Daytona Beach Shores, Cousins: Gloria Thompson, Daytona Beach Shores; William L. Griggs (Dorothy) Whippany, New Jersey; Lynn Kloznick, of Orlando, Fl.; Phyllis Charnley (Harry) Big Canoe, Ga. Michael A. Zonfrillo (MaryJoyce), Long Valley, NJ; Bill Thompson (Carol), Daytona Beach; and Kathleen E. Conway, Port Orange FL. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.Lohmanfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the entrusted care of Cardwell Funeral Home.
