JEANNETTE MARQUIS Obituary

Jeannette Marquis passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at the age of 95. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond Marquis, of which they shared over 50 years of marriage together. Jeannette resided with her niece, Cheryl (Greg) Everett for over five years, until the time of her passing. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Jeannette was a devoted Catholic and will be remembered by being a strong willed Frenchman, her punctuality and her love for cards; particularly the game 3-13. I have wonderful memories of me and my brother visiting Aunt Jeannette and Uncle Raymond on The River House. The one thing that always sticks out in remembering them was the hard candy she used to give us. We loved visiting with them not only for the hard candy but the enjoyment we got from being with them.

Some of my fondest childhood memories are from visiting my Uncle Ray and Aunt Jeanette on "The Hill" in Lebanon NH and on The River in Thetford Vt. She treated us urchins like her own children, was a wonderful cook and ran a cheerful home that was a joy to visit. Her and Ray had "Cabins" and for years she took care of that business plus the booking from Ray's plastering and she did everything with a wonderful efficiency and with great energy and joy. We're going to always remember her....she's a part of our memory in the category "Wonderful people who made a difference". Bob Payette
