Kyle was an early mentor for me and one of the reasons why I am a nursing home administrator. He truly was one of a kind individual and passionate for the nursing home industry. I just recently learned of his death.

I was sadden to hear of the news last week from the FHCA Pulse of Kyle's passing. I will always remember Kyle coming over to my wedding 13 years ago and when my dad passed away back in 1994. He always wanted the make sure the Gregson boys were ok and looked after us. He will always be remembered as a good friend of mine and looked after me like my dad would when he was no longer here to do so. God Bless!

An era has ended. And he becomes a legend. There will never be another like him. He had a passion for the industry and a love of the process that made it. I remember when he received national recognition for his efforts in the health care field. So humble. I thought of him often and sad to say did not keep in touch as friends should have. Never the less, know that I learned from him, respected him and loved you all. My deepest sympathy and regrets for your loss.

My heart was saddened to hear of the loss of my mentor and friend. He took me under his wing when I moved to Florida in 1991 as a very young and inexperienced Administrator! I am indebted to him for his continual encouragement and advice. My condolances and prayers to Kyle's family!

Lockeby family:
I am deeply saddened to learn of Kyle's passing. He was such a huge part of my childhood, since my mother worked as a Nurse, and later a Nursing Home Administrator, with/for Kyle.
He was a big teddy bear, but definitely had a "bite" when needed! A "big man" with an even bigger heart. Very influential in the health care arena, always wanting to do what was/is right!
Please accept my deepest sympathy. There sure won't ever be another Kyle Lockeby.

Kyle Lockeby, renowned long term care leader in Florida for many years, was dedicated to the residents and staff in nursing homes and to the members of Florida Health Care Association. He was smart and a critical thinker with a gentle, kind soul and how he loved his Mary! and the rest of his family. We loved him.

Like many other FHCA friends, I have known and worked with Kyle on many projects and issues over the past 18 years. He was a great role model-always knowing how to deal with a problem situation. He sure could raise a ruckus if he wanted to! My prayers are with the family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Kyle's death. I have known him for a long time. When I first started to work for Florida Health Care Association in 1979, he was always very supportive of me and one of the nicest people I had ever met. He will truly be missed.

I am so saddened to hear of Kyle's death. What a marvelous man he was! I have known him for many years and have had the utmost respect for he and Helen. My late husband worked closely with Kyle for many years and was always inspired by him. He gave me many words of encouragement through my career in the healthcare field. Kyle is a legend and will be sadly missed by all. My deepest sympathy to all of you through this difficult time.

I was very sorry to hear this news.
I worked with Kyle for many years going back to the early 1990's. Although he had a tough exterior he truly did have a soft heart. He was a loyal friend and I will miss him. My condolences to the Lockeby family.

Warren, Roben and I are sorry you lost your uncle. We had the pleasure of meeting him a few years back at your and Page's wedding. You have spoken so highly of him and his many accomplishments over the years. He was certainly a big plus to the Halifax area for many, many years. Howard and Roben Smith
