Condolences to the Ryan Family from the Colley Family of Danbury. Bill was a great friend and administrator while I was teaching at Danbury High School.He was always understanding of the childrens'problems. He was admired
by the students and staff of the High School.

I went to DHS, graduating in 1967. Mr. Ryan was not my teacher, but I do remember him well. He was well liked and an outstanding educator.

We were saddened to learn of Bill’s passing. He was a great educator and mentor - a man of unquestionable integrity and principle. He not only inspired countless students, but his colleagues as well. His legacy will impact generations to come.

To the family of "Bill" Ryan: I have fond memories of Mr. Ryan. He was my English teacher when I was a student at Danbury High. He was a colleague during my 32 year tenure as a Danbury teacher. I had the utmost respect for Bill Ryan. I'm deeply saddened by his passing. Please accept my most sincere condolences for your loss.

Dearest Jean and family,
Bill was not only a great educator and mentor during my years at Danbury High, but in the eyes of my father (Edward A. Sillari) he was a great team member, educator, administrator and most of all friend. My deepest love and prayers go to all of you during this time. With both of my parents now having moved on, I think of them all enjoying constant debates of what is going on in education here today; while they enjoy heaven.

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. Dear Mrs Ryan,
MY deepest sympathy go out to you and your family. I have fond memories about my coach "Skip" Ryan while attending La Salle Academy. In 1951,with the training of the coach, our team qualified for the National Indoor Track Meet at Madison Square Gardens. The whole team was so impressed at the size of the Garden and the number of athelets. It was quite the experience.

Dear Ryan Family, I was so saddened to learn of Mr. Ryan's passing.
I was one of those "kids" who was in the first Freshman class at the new (1964) Danbury High School!
Although I was assigned to HOUSE 3, I was one of the students, as a result of an NSF "accelerated science" grant, who actually moved among "houses",
So, I got to know all the House Masters. I guess, for me, more importantly, they all got to know me.
In that process, I had only the most positive and encouraging interactions with " Bill" throughout my high school career. He was among the FEW who encouraged me to seek my soaring goals.
I am eternally grateful for the impact he had on my future and will never forget how important his support was.
From that perspective, I will tell you that the world is now short of Men like Bill Ryan.
He will be sorely missed but long remembered!

Rset In Peace Mr. Ryan. As I reflect back on my high school years at DHS, tumultous as they were, your educational and administrative leadership left an indeliable mark on my life. I have used many of the same principles and techniques that you displayed to my peers and I, as I deal with the young adults under my care for the past 20 years. I wish I had the ability to go back 30 years in time and thank you for what you passed on to me that has made me a better man in my life, and which I now try to impart in our young adults today. The irony of life is that we never thank those who are in the process of imparting life's lessons at the time they are teaching them. So, to your family, I thank them in your place for sharing your life with the thosands of students whose lifes you helped define.

Dear Mrs, Ryan,
I am so sorry to read of your husband's death. He was such a great guy and my absolute favorite teacher of all time. He made English and English Lit fun and I'm still an avid reader. The last time I saw you both was in Palm Coast when I was living in Ormond Beach (25 years) but I remarried finally (a Murphy from NY) and moved back home to Danbury/Bethel in 2004. I will be contributing to the memorial at Danbury High to help keep his name known to those who weren't so lucky to have him as a teacher.
