Deloris Fields Obituary

Deloris Ann Fields quietly passed away on May 27, 2014, from her long term residence at Compassions In Healthcare. She battled many years with severe dementia and although it robbed her of many things we all take for granted, she still enjoyed some wonderful moments and was loved by many before she passed. Deloris was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on November 15, 1938. She moved to Florida over 40 years ago and was married to Melvin Fields for 30+ years until he passed away in 2005. They raised and adopted her granddaughter Lindsey Fields and her brother Kevin McCoy. Deloris enjoyed being a housewife and a loving wife to Mel and caring for her family and her pets. She is survived by Lindsey Fields and Lindsey's children, Alexis and Stephen, and her great granddaughter Kalie McCoy and mother Jill McCoy. Deloris was also loved by her dear friends Anita & Jay Gallentine, as well as her long-term companions Linda Marshall, Norma Sanford, Curtisean Warren and Guardian Martha Smith. She was tenderly cared for by Mike Lawler and Shoshannah Tempest, owners of Compassions In Healthcare and their kind and gentle staff as well as Vitas Hospice nurses and aides. Deloris is now at rest.
