Arthur Trampler Obituary

Arthur Trampler

Arthur "Art" Richard Trampler, 48, died suddenly October 8, 2012. Art was born October 26, 1963 and raised in Maplewood, NJ. He was a graduate of Columbia High School's class of 1981. He earned his Bachelor's Degree cum laude in Economics from Southwest Missouri State, and began a long career in the field of medical insurance. Art was Regional Director, Network Development, for the past 18 years for Rockport Healthcare Group, a company specializing in the field of employee benefits and health insurance plans.

Art earned his amateur radio license at the age of 14. Amateur radio became a life-long passion, connecting him with people all over the globe and locally. Art's call sign was K0RO. He was a member of the Nixa Amateur Radio Club, and a charter member of CW Ops, an organization dedicated to lovers of Morse Code. He was an incredible CW operator and a master of radio communications theory. Art loved DX, and participated regularly in communications contests and emergency communications drills.

Art's compassion for others, music, and poetry reflected his deep faith and love for God throughout his life, and he served on many ministry and praise teams over the years. He had a very generous and giving heart and readily shared his time, talents and resources with all those around him, especially with those in need. Art's brilliant mind and "New Jersey" wit brought many smiles (and sometimes groans) to all who were blessed to know and love him. He enjoyed grilling for family and friends, playing his harmonica to tunes on the car radio, and telling really corny jokes. His thoughtful nature and mischievous grin will live in our hearts forever.

Art is survived by his wife Mary Trampler; his three daughters Rachel, Victoria, and Gabrielle Trampler; his step-son John Cole; his mother Elizabeth Trampler, all of Springfield. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Jack and Pat Trampler of Harmony Township, NJ, brother and sister-in-law Kurt and Lisa Trampler of Fernandina Beach, FL, and sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Brian Cowan of Lakeside, CA, plus nieces and nephews: Diana Trampler of Harmony Township, NJ; Christine and Michael Trampler of Fernandina Beach, FL. There are numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in NJ. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Garza Trampler, and their unborn child.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for Monday, October 15, 2012 at Praise Assembly, 3535 North Glenstone Avenue, Springfield. Visitation at 10 a.m. followed by service at 11 a.m.In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations made in Art's honor to Sigma House Recovery Center, 800 S. Park Ave., Springfield, MO 65802. I met Art at Maplewood JHS. He helped me get my first Amateur Radio license. He really got me hooked. He also introduced me to a lot of different music. I also just learned that his Dad was born in Germany, where I now live.

Art was always kind and, generouto me when I stopped by the office with Michellle and him. One piece of advise he gave me was the best information that I received and help me fill out some important papers. Art would tell stories about his dad and New Jersey. He was so bright, funny, charming and sometimes his humor was a little--------. He would always share any thing he had brought to the office for treats..But I loved seeing him and always hoped he would share some wit or store. He will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayer foe each of you is for comfort and peace in your heart. May God bless and comfort you.
