Leota Ruth (Musgrove) Morar

Springfield, Missouri - Leota Ruth (Musgrove) Morar died Dec. 27, 2017, in Springfield. She was born Dec. 9, 1925, to Ruby Ann and James Berry Musgrove at Woodston, Kansas.

A graduate of Yates Center, Kansas, High School, she attended Central Bible Institute in Springfield, where she met John T. Morar whom she married on June 4, 1949, in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. She received degrees from Central Bible College, Evangel College and the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.

She and her husband pastored five Assemblies of God churches in Kansas: Elwood, Caldwell, Wichita, Hays and Baxter Springs. For many years, she and John lived in Springfield, where she served several Assemblies of God institutions, including the national office, CBC, Evangel and AGTS.

For more than 10 years, she and John were missionaries in the Philippines and across Asia.

Following the death of her husband in 1994, she returned to Springfield where she volunteered as a caregiver for many residents of Maranatha Village. Her evangelistic zeal was unabated until death.

She is survived by her sister, Marva Ellis of Ashland, Kansas; and two brothers, Don Musgrove of Canon City, Colorado, and Roger Musgrove of Meade, Kansas. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Her brothers Robert and Derald Musgrove preceded her in death.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at 1 p.m. at Central Assembly of God, followed by funeral services at 2 p.m.
