Caroline Rasmussen Obituary

Caroline F. Rasmussen

Caroline F. Rasmussen passed away early morning on April 22, in Manor Care Health Services. She was preceded in death by parents, George and Caroline Hoyer; and grandson, Jack (of son Steven and Kathy Rasmussen, of Oregon). Caroline is further survived by daughter, Linda Rasmussen, of California; brothers, George Hoyer, of Springfield, and Russell and wife Beverly Hoyer, of Montana; sisters, Ruth and husband Bill Levy, of California, Grace and husband David Ray, of Marshfield; and Mildred Dohrman, of Sweet Springs, Mo.

Visitation will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. Services will follow at 10 a.m. Both in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Interment will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in South Springfield.

As exemplified by her honorary burial, Caroline was very proud of her two years in the Marine Core-both a key punch and computer operator. She retired from City Utilities after 25 years.

In her free time she enjoyed gardening, reading avidly, and traveling, from St. Louis to Post-Cold War Berlin. She was also a great example of keeping fit, although she hated working at it. Even in her final days she continued physical therapy. Her greatest motivation was family.
