Cora Cantrell Obituary

Cora "Jean" Cantrell

Cora "Jean" Cantrell (MeMa), age 73 of Springfield, MO, departed Sunday, November 18, 2012 in Century Pines Assisted Living. She was born January 22, 1939 in Springfield, MO, to Bert John and Pearl Edna (King) Saltkill.

MeMa will always be remembered for her love of cooking, being a jokester, and playing bingo. On Saturdays she enjoyed meeting her CB friends for coffee. She will always be known to them as "Sweet Angel." One of her greatest joys in life was her family; being a devoted wife for over 51 years, loving mother to her children and the fun MeMa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warren; and six siblings.

Survivors include her two daughters, Janet Rippee and Marsha Swatosh and husband Scott all of Springfield; five grandchildren and their spouses; nine great grandchildren; three sisters and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, November 26, 2012 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with Mr. Jim Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 6-8 p.m., in the funeral home.

A special thank you to the Staff of Century Pines and Dr. Fursa for the care of Jean.
