David Scovell Obituary

David Gene Scovell

David Gene Scovell born June 8, 1930 in Rolla, MO passed away peacefully June 23, 2015. He was preceded in death by brothers; Fred and John, his grandson and best friend Ryan Scovell. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Scovell, sister, Mary Ann Victor, children: Jim (Mindy), Mark (Missy), Joe (Aimee), 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews and dear family friend Tom Herron. He was a member of the US Army and proudly served his country during the Korean War. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 29th, 2015 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, burial will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Ryan's Gift of Love Foundation, 13851 W 63rd Street, Box 322, Shawnee, Kansas 66216.

My deepest sympathy. David was a great friend and businessman. He loved the Plaza and its a better place because of David. So sorry for your loss Betty.

Mr. Scovell was an inspiring teacher and such a gentleman. It was so nice to speak with him last year at my brother Greg's funeral service. All of my family was so impressed with his warmth and compassion. My deepest condolences and prayers to the extended Scovell family.
