DONALD ELDRIDGE BULLOCK

Donald Eldridge Bullock ( 97) of Cape Coral, FL sailed into God's safe harbor on July 1, 2013. Don was born in Wareham, Massachusetts on Jan. 5,1916. He was the fourth child of Arthur Ernest and Ruth Eldridge Bullock. His maternal grandfather was a sea captain and his paternal grandfather owned cranberry bogs on which Don worked as a teenager. Don graduated from Taunton (MA) High School and worked his way through Suffolk Law School (Boston, MA) by playing saxophone in dance bands. On July 7,1938, Don married Natalie May Curtis.

Don served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Social Harmony Masonic Lodge in Wareham. He and his wife, Natalie and daughter moved to Scituate, MA in 1947. While in Scituate ,they enjoyed sailing their 18 ft. Cape Cod catboat ( with no motor) along the Atlantic coast, camping out in New Hampshire, canoeing and spending time with their families on Cape Cod. Don and Nat were active members of the First Trinitarian Congregational Church, served on the Advisory Board of Rainbow Girls Assembly #77, and acted in many plays with the Scituate Dramateurs. Don also directed and wrote a few plays Don continued to play the sax in several dance bands and was a member of the Scituate Town Band.

Donald was employed by Pneumatic Scale Corporation in Quincy, MA for over thirty years. He was head of their Patent Department.

In 1973, Don and Nat found their summer camp in Rangeley, ME. In 1979, they retired to Cape Coral, FL where they enjoyed their winters playing golf at the CC Executive Golf Club, playing bridge and being close to their granddaughters.

On their 50th wedding anniversary, Don and Nat went snorkeling off Maui, and for their 57th anniversary, they exchanged new kayaks. Natalie Curtis Bullock passed away in 1998. In addition to his beloved wife, Don was predeceased by his parents and three siblings: Marion Rhodes of Sarasota, FL, Louise Warburton of Taunton, MA and Cyrus F. Bullock II of Wareham, MA. Also, two nephews passed before him: Cyrus F. Bullock III an international reporter, and Richard M. Warburton of Sonora, CA.

Don leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter Natalie "Lee" Silver and his son-in-law John of Cape Coral, two granddaughters, Heather O'Connell of Cape Coral and Jennifer Silver Adamson (Scott) of Dallas, GA , one great granddaughter, Kayleigh O'Connell and two great grandsons Doran Adamson and Logan Adamson. Also one great niece, Penny Louise

Warburton Murray of Sunnyvale, CA. Also his Eldridge and Curtis nephews and nieces. He will be greatly missed for his love and humor by friends from Maine to Florida.

Memorial gifts may be made to Hope Hospice, Faith Presbyterian Church of Cape Coral, or the American Heart Association. No services are planned at this time.
