Peter Gargano Obituary

Peter Anthony Gargano, Jr., 79, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on Sunday, December 15th, 2013 at 7:35pm surrounded by his loving family.
Peter was born in Waukegan, Illinois on October 11th, 1934 to Peter and Mary Gargano. He married Cecile Rivelli on June 9th, 1956 in North Chicago.
They moved to Fort Myers in 1960. In 1965 Peter started Pioneer Real Estate which he continued until his death. In addition to being an active real estate broker for nearly fifty years, Peter developed two of the earliest condominium projects in Southwest Florida: Lake Lawn Condominiums and Town & River Condominiums, and owned several restaurants.
Peter was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Peter is survived by: his wife Cecile; four children, Tony (Jessie) Gargano, Peter Gargano III, Mary Jo (Steve) Merando and Frank Combs. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and many nieces and nephews, including his niece Sandi who was by his side until the end.
Peter was preceded in death by: his parents, Peter and Mary Gargano; his brother, Ciro; his sister Marie DeSalvo; and his daughter Lisa Gargano (Combs).
The funeral will take place at 3pm on Wednesday, December 18th at St.Francis Xavier Catholic Church with a reception to follow at Tony and Jessie Gargano's home.

I am very sorry for your loss. Peter was a great person to have known. I worked with him during the past 18 years and I must say it was a pleasant experience. I will forever remember him. May he rest in peace for now he is not suffering. With my kindest thoughts and prayers for the family.
