MADISON — Clara Depew Sutton, 111, formerly of 1440 NC Highway 70, Madison, died Sunday, August 26, 2012, at Penn Nursing Center, Reidsville.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Pleasantville Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
She was born on March 14, 1901, to the late James Madison Sutton and Annie Webb Sutton. Miss Sutton was born, reared, and lived her entire life in Rockingham County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Maude Wall, Ida Wray, and Dorothy Webb and brothers, James, George, Wade, Clyde, Levi and Woodrow Sutton.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Virgie Sutton, of Madison, brother-in-law, Wilmor Wray, of Lexington, SC; nieces and nephew, Elizabeth S. Davis, of Charlotte, W. Harold Wray, of Lexington, SC and Linda S. Evans, of Rocky Mount.
Miss Sutton will lie instate from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday at Colonial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service Wednesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Penn Nursing Center in Reidsville for their love and excellent care of Miss Sutton.
Colonial Funeral Home in Madison is serving the family.

RIP Clara aka my lil pea pod, Clara will be missed but always remembered and loved at the penn nursing center, it was with great honor to have got to know Clara the past five years of her life, She was truely one of a kind.
