GRETNA Phyllis Dalton Goad, 74, of 6521 Music Street, Gretna, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Gretna Health & Rehab.

Born Dec. 16, 1935, in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Hubert Russell Dalton and Gladys Hines Dalton. She was predeceased by a sister, Lavona Simpson. Mrs. Goad was a member of Weatherford Primitive Baptist Church and a retired employee of Klopman.

She is survived by her husband, Elder Raymond Goad, of the residence; two daughters, Pam Betterton and husband, Roger, of Gretna, and Stephanie Dawson and husband, Wendell, of Gretna; two sisters, Patsy Barker and Gail Crouse, of Gretna; two grandchildren, Lauren Dawson and Brent Dawson; and her mother-in-law, Lucille Goad, of Gretna.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 25, 2010, at Weatherford Primitive Baptist Church, by Elder Marvin Brumfield, Elder Jimmy Grey and Elder Joe Sawyer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
