Paul Pannell Obituary

Paul Edward Pannell

Paul Edward Pannell, 68, of Philadelphia, Pa., and formerly of Long Island, passed Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, in Philadelphia, Pa. Born Dec. 8, 1941, in Halifax County, he was the son of the late Dall Pannell and Mrs. Jennie Marable Pannell.

He was a member of First Buffalo Baptist Church, Long Island, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and an employee of the Philadelphia School District.

Surviving are two sons, Troy Pannell, of Camp Springs, Md., and Edward Pannell, of Philadelphia, Pa.; one daughter, Yvette Pannell, of Oxon Hill, Md.; four brothers, Ronnie, Herbert and Carl Pannell, of Long Island, and William Pannell, of Ft. Washington, Md.; four sisters, Barbara Pannell and Beth Ann Thomas and Gloria Pannell, all of Long Island, and Eleaser Burrell, of Garner, N.C.; three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Pannell.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, from First Buffalo Baptist Church by the Rev. Samuel Mitchell with interment in the church cemetery. Viewing and visitation will be Saturday at the church from noon until the time of the service.

Miller Funeral Home, Gretna, is in charge of arrangements.
