Eugene Patteson Obituary

Eugene Randolph Patteson

Eugene Randolph Patteson, 92, of Burlington, N.C., and formerly of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, in Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington. He was the husband of the late Sybil Cheatham Patteson.

Born May 10, 1918, in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late James Macon and Helen St. Clair Woodward Patteson. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Caroline P. Craddock, and abrother, James B. Patteson, of Dalghran. He was a retired manufacture representative for the Boling Company and Stout Chair Company. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a 32-degree Mason and member of the Shrine Club, York Rites, Scottish Rite and Jamestown Society, the Boy Scouts, and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.

Mr. Patteson is survived by his son, Eugene "Randy" Randolph Patteson II, and his wife, Patricia, of Burlington, N.C.; one brother, Macon W. Patteson, of Diamond Shoals, Miss.; two grandchildren, Eugene Patteson III and his wife, Rachael, of Charlotte, N.C., and Amy Caroline Rutledge, of Greensboro, N.C.; and six great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will he held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010, in Spring Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Dan G. Mason officiating.
